1. Who we are
GSG is a free, volunteer-run website that helps families give away and find outgrown youth soccer gear. It is not owned or operated by American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) or any other league - see our AYSO relationship page for more on that. No one profits from this site: there are no listing fees, no commissions, and no charges to browse, list, or request gear.
2. Acceptance of these terms
By creating an account or using GSG, you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
3. Who can use this site
GSG is intended for adults (18 or older) creating accounts on behalf of their families. Listings describe gear for use by children, but the site itself is not directed at children, and accounts should be created and managed by a parent or guardian.
4. What this site is (and isn't)
GSG is a listing board that connects families directly. We don't take possession of gear, inspect it in person, verify condition claims, process payments, or manage the actual exchange. Every hand-off - shipping, drop-off, or in-person meetup - is arranged and completed directly between the families involved, at their own discretion and risk.
5. Your account
- You're responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity that happens under your account.
- Provide accurate information when you register and when you create listings.
- We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these terms, misuse the site, or create safety concerns for other users.
6. Listings and content you post
- You're responsible for the accuracy of anything you list - description, brand, size, and condition.
- Listings must be actual youth soccer gear (cleats, jerseys, shorts, socks, shin guards, practice gear, goals/nets, and similar items) that you're giving away, not selling, trading for payment, or advertising for a business.
- Submitted listings are reviewed before going live. We can reject, edit for clarity, or remove any listing at our discretion, including after it's been posted.
- By posting a listing (including photos), you give GSG permission to display that content on the site as part of the normal operation of the marketplace. You retain ownership of what you post.
- Don't post anything illegal, deceptive, offensive, or that infringes someone else's rights.
7. Exchanges happen at your own risk
GSG does not guarantee the condition, safety, authenticity, or fitness of any item listed, and we are not a party to any exchange between users. When you arrange to meet another family, ship an item, or accept gear from someone else, you do so voluntarily and at your own risk. Please review our safety tips before meeting up with someone you don't know.
8. Reviews
Reviews should reflect an honest account of your actual exchange. Don't post reviews that are false, defamatory, or written to manipulate another user's rating.
9. Prohibited conduct
- Using the site for anything other than a genuine, no-cost exchange of youth soccer gear.
- Harassment, threats, or abusive behavior toward other users.
- Attempting to charge money, solicit payment, or run a resale operation through listings.
- Creating fake accounts, fake listings, or fake reviews.
- Attempting to interfere with, scrape, or disrupt the site's normal operation.
10. Reporting problems
If you see a listing or user behavior that concerns you, please use Report a listing or contact us directly. We review reports by hand and act as quickly as we reasonably can.
11. No warranty
GSG is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee the site will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that any particular listing, match, or exchange will work out.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, GSG and the person(s) who built and operate it are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site, or from any exchange, meetup, or interaction with another user. This is a free, volunteer-run community resource, not a commercial marketplace with dispute resolution or purchase protection.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the site grows. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continuing to use the site after changes means you accept the updated terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
